Saco Water Quality Workshop

February 12, 2014

Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Saco, City Hall

Water quality is a major issue for residents in Maine. Maintaining good water quality is of particular interest along the coast, both for public benefits such as clean beaches and private benefits such as income for shellfish harvesters. Code Enforcement Officers and Planners are often stuck in the middle, working with landowners to reduce their pollutant load and working with municipal officials to strengthen regulations that will improve water quality.
The Maine Coastal Program is presenting five half-day workshops to address water quality. Each workshop will follow the same agenda (see below). The same general information will be presented at each workshop. However, time is also built into the agenda for consideration of pertinent issues relevant to each particular region. So come with questions!
Each workshop will provide Four (4) Contact Hours towards CEO recertification in Land Use and Zoning or Shoreland Zoning.
