Woodland Stewardship Stories

March 25, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Lamoine Conservation Commission invites you to a presentation on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Lamoine Town Hall. The presenters are Andy Shultz, Maine Forest Service Landowner Outreach Forester and Steve MacDonald, Forester for Prentiss & Carlisle, Co. The presentation is designed for woodland owners who are interested in learning about the options they might have to improve and/or benefit more from their woodland. During the presentation they will share examples of work other woodland owners in the Downeast area have completed on their land. The real life examples presented will show multiple landowners benefitting and improving their land for many different reasons including aesthetics, wildlife habitat improvement, firewood production, wildfire control, developing hiking trails and recreational opportunities. In many cases income was generated from the projects through timber production. There is no charge to attend this exciting presentation. Light refreshments will be available. If you have any questions please call 667-2242.
